The AccuVent Cathedral Ceiling Starter Baffle is the first component in Brentwood’s cathedral ventilation system, designed to initiate proper airflow from the soffit up to the ridge vent in vaulted ceiling assemblies. Installed at the top plate, it creates the foundation for a continuous ventilation channel that protects insulation performance and supports long-term roof health.
This versatile baffle is suitable for use with batt, blown-in, and spray foam insulation, making it an ideal solution for both ventilated and unvented attic applications. In spray foam installations, it also serves as a spray template, helping installers maintain a required 1" ventilation space between the roof deck and insulation for code compliance and air circulation.
Constructed from 100% recycled, flame-retardant PVC, the starter baffle is durable, lightweight, and installs easily with just a few staples. It pairs seamlessly with the AccuVent Cathedral Ceiling Extension Baffle to complete full-length runs in cathedral or vaulted ceiling systems.
Each baffle measures 14.5" wide by 48" long and is 1" deep once installed. It’s designed to start the ventilation path in cathedral ceilings and vaulted spaces, keeping air flowing between the roof and insulation. It’s compatible with all common insulation types—including spray foam, batts, and blown-in.
